  1.                                  VEHICLES

  3. This program was written out of necessity.  The software available for
  4. keeping track of vehicle expenses, etc. did not suit my needs.  So I
  5. wrote this (using the Clarion Professional Developer).
  6.  
  7. Files contained in the VEHICLES.ZIP file are:
  8.  
  9.           CATEGORY.DAT                  (data file)
  10.           CATEGORY.K01                  (key/index file)
  11.           VEHICLE.HLP                   (help file)
  12.           VEHICLES.EXE                  (executable file)
  13.           README (this file)

  15. Make a directory of your choice (e.g. C:\VEHICLES), change to that
  16. directory and copy the files to the directory.
  17.  
  18. Every screen has HELP by pressing the F1 key.  Everything is covered
  19. in these files so no extended documentation is included.
  20.  
  21. The CATEGORY file will accomodate 26 categories using the letters
  22. A thru Z.  Numbers could also be used.  There is one caveat: the letter
  23. "F" has been set up as "FUEL PURCHASES".  That's what the included
  24. CATEGORY file contains.  DO NOT CHANGE OR DELETE IT!  The program
  25. depends upon it for mileage reporting.

  27. A TICKLER showing scheduled service, etc. in the next 1,000 miles can
  28. be popped up on any menu screen.  The information comes from a file
  29. which you "fill in".

  31. You have the option of printing to SCREEN, PRINTER or FILE.  When the
  32. option screen appears just press the corresponding FIRST letter of your
  33. choice and press [ENTER].

  35. A couple of reports require DATE ranges.  The input screen will default
  36. to "01/01/80" and "12/31/99" for the beginning and ending dates,
  37. respectively.  If you press [ENTER] at each prompt the report will print
  38. everything in the particular file.  You can, of course, change these
  39. dates.

  41. There is also DATA BACKUP and RESTORE on the menu.  You just have to 
  42. supply a FORMATTED disk.
